Through a partnership with US Together, refugee youth participated in a year-long mentoring program that taught participants foundational sewing skills. The program included fashion illustration, pattern design, and industrial sewing machine training.
By bridging vulnerable populations into sustainable arts-based skill-building within the sewing industry, we empower individuals through the development of trade skills, revitalizing communities and the sewing industry, itself.
Through access to up-cycled materials and artisanal mentorship, participants:
- LEARN about sustainability by effectively learning how to maintain & repair garments;
- REFINE craftsmanship via knowledge and skill-building;
- ENGAGE in innovative product creation that impacts their local community; and
- BUILD hope — within themselves and rippling out.
Help fund a student’s path to learning valuable life skills.
